As President, Laura oversees the administration of all business activities and serves as contract administrator. Working with our teaming partners to ensure that binding agreements are in place and proper insurance coverage is provided. A graduate of Purdue University, she is an experienced computer programmer and analyst. Her financial background and business experience strengthens Poole Fire Protection’s ability to stay within budget and on track to complete projects within their quoted timeline.

Jack earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 1986. As a Registered Fire Protection Engineer in 49 states, U.S. Virgin Islands, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and Guam he is an expert in this field with nearly 35 years of experience. As Principal of Poole Fire Protection, his expertise includes fire suppression and detection system design, fire hazards analysis, fire risk assessments, construction management, and fire protection water distribution system evaluations. He also provides legal testimony for fire investigations, code analysis, life safety, fire protection system design testing and maintenance.

Drew leads the engineering and business development operations of the company. A graduate of the University of Maryland with a Master of Science (M.S.) in Engineering Management, a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Fire Protection Engineering, and a B.S. in Fire Protection Engineering.

Nancy has been serving as our Contract Administrator since 2009. She manages the complexities of pulling together contracts and proposal requirements. She is your go-to person for contract agreements and change orders/addendums, legal matters such as teaming agreements, confidentiality agreements and non-disclosure statements, insurance forms, and preparation of SF330 proposal packages.

As a Fire Protection Engineer, Brad has worked on a variety of projects for both public and private sector clients. His responsibilities include providing fire protection engineering design services, life safety and building code analyses, facility assessments, inspection and testing of fire protection systems, and code consulting services.

Serving in the roles of project engineer, project manager, and fire protection engineer of record, Brad’s project tasks include inspection of new and existing facilities for compliance with minimum design standards, as well as the design, construction management and acceptance testing of fire alarm and fire suppression systems. He also has particular experience with fire protection water distribution systems, and is an experienced project manager.

Brad’s projects have included a variety of facility types, including sewage lift stations, aviation, healthcare, commercial, residential, underground and educational facilities as well as DOD, DOI, DOE, VA, and GSA installations.  He has also developed a multitude of environmental, health and safety assessments for industrial facilities.

Additionally, Brad serves as a volunteer firefighter/emergency medical technician, has been an OSHA certified Hazmat Technician, and is a Certified Safety Professional.

Kevin has served as the Qualified Fire Protection Engineer on a variety of federal projects and has provided fire protection design services, facility assessments and code consulting. His project tasks include performing hydrant testing, inspecting existing fire protection structures for compliance with life safety and NFPA codes, assisting in the design of new fire alarm systems and fire suppression systems, and writing assessment reports that document fire protection and life safety deficiencies.

Kevin’s past work experience and responsibilities include fire protection systems testing and evaluations, facility process special hazards, business interruptions analysis, and loss expectancy estimations. He has reviewed and approved sprinkler plans, construction plans, and special extinguishing systems. He conducted inspections of large manufacturing facilities, hospitals and office buildings, testing sprinkler systems, fire alarms and water supply equipment. Kevin has also generated complete engineering reports evaluating sprinkler systems, special hazards and overall condition of risks.

Kevin provided engineering services for the design of sprinkler systems, suppression systems and fire alarm systems for central generating stations, nuclear services, cogeneration, and plant modifications. His experience has also included the design and evaluation of fire suppression and detection systems for aircraft hangars, including AFFF systems, high expansion foam systems, UV/IR detection systems, and complete fire alarm systems to support the operation and control of the suppression systems.

As a Senior CADD Lead, Don is responsible for department and project management as well as overseeing the production of the firm's CAD products. He verifies that the information is accurately depicted and corresponds with the design specifications. He completes peer reviews to ensure that the drawings meet the firm's CAD standards and properly utilize the industry's symbols.

Don is also responsible for design. He has experience with sprinkler design, fire pump design and layout, and Backflow Assembly upgrade design. Don’s extensive project history includes private businesses, schools, healthcare facilities, commercial facilities and military installations.

John has fifteen years of experience in fire protection engineering. He has worked extensively on federal fire protection projects as CAD Supervisor and Project Manager of Poole Fire Protection. He provides computer aided drafting and design services, manages CAD and BIM standards, procedures and workflows to establish and ensure quality standards and has expert knowledge of BIM related design technologies such as Revit, BIM360/C4R, Navisworks as well as legacy CAD applications and practices.

With a strong body of knowledge in the design of fire alarm/mass notification systems, optical flame detection systems, toxic and combustible gas detection systems, clean agent and CO2 suppression systems, as well as both foam and water-based sprinkler systems, John works directly with the Fire Protection Engineers to assist with outlining objectives, requirements and design approaches.

Serving in the role of technical lead, Brett’s project tasks include consultation of code to create a compliant basis of design, code narrative, and code footprint that will guide the project design. He also has experience conducting flow tests, system acceptance testing for fire suppression systems, fire alarm/mass notification and fire sprinkler system installation reviews for installation intergrity and developing engineering judgements.

Brett’s projects have included a variety of facility types, including aviation, healthcare, and business facilities as well as DoD installations.

Sean Vizgirda

Sean brings a diverse background in fire protection, inspection, and fire safety instruction spanning a vast array of facility types. Beyond fire protection engineering, his skill set includes fire safety management planning and inspections, risk management, confined space rescue, emergency scene command and control, and emergency medical care.

Sean most recently served as a Senior Instructor for the Fire Fighting program for Qatar Petroleum, developing and maintaining the training program at Ras Lafan Emergency Services College. He worked with clients across the Middle East region to train and develop fire prevention and firefighting capabilities.

Sean has also served as the Fire Station Captain in the United States Air Force at RAF Lakenheath where he was the Primary Crew Chief on many different types of emergencies including fire, medical, hazmat spills, and technical rescue operations. He also performed extensive fire safety inspections and documented deficiencies in accordance with NFPA and local policies.
