OLATHE, KS – Poole Fire Protection Inc. has been awarded a $10,000,000 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity architect-engineer contract for fire protection testing, inspection, studies and surveys by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Pacific. The 29 year old fire protection engineering firm will work toward ensuring various Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and other government facilities within the NAVFAC Pacific area of operations are safe from fire hazards. Locations covered by this contract include, but aren’t limited to, Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands; Japan; Australia; and Diego Garcia.

The work to be performed by the Poole Fire Protection team under this 5-year contract includes building and life safety code consulting services, fire suppression and fire alarm/mass notification system design, final acceptance testing and inspection of all types of installed fire protection systems, fire protection and life safety assessments and studies, surveys and water flow testing.

Poole Fire Protection has assembled a team comprised of firms with extensive past project experience to support the contract’s requirements. Teaming partners include Coffman Engineers, Inc., a fire protection engineering firm, Crawford Consulting Services, Inc., supporting the team with estimating services, and Stanley Consultants, which will provide technical resources – including specifically architectural, geotechnical and environmental design services.

“We are honored to be awarded this very important contract to ensure these government and military facilities meet fire codes and are as safe as possible from fire and smoke hazards,” said Laura Poole, president of Poole Fire Protection. “We bring vast experience with fire protection engineering for government and military facilities, and have been working on such projects beyond the borders of the continental U.S. for over 13 years. We are excited and ready to begin supporting NAVFAC to provide fire safe facilities in its Pacific region.”
