P539 Dining and Other Facilities
Poole Fire Protection served as the Qualified Fire Protection Engineer for this project which included two new buildings and two renovations. The new Dining Facility totals 36,255 SF, the new Operations Facility totals 4,578 SF, the renovated Library totals 8,191 SF, and the renovated Administration Facility totals 17,295 SF. The building containing the library also contains a post office that remained in service throughout and following construction of the library.
Fire Protection Engineering Services included charrette attendance, fire hydrant flow testing, charrette report development, performing building code and life safety code analysis, and developing the Fire Protection/Life Safety Design Analysis and Life Safety Plans in accordance with the applicable codes and standards.
Poole Fire Protection also provided the complete fire protection engineering design services for the water-based fire suppression systems, fire pump system, and fire alarm/mass notification systems. Fire suppression systems include wet pipe sprinkler systems in the Dining Facility, Administration Facility, and Library, and a fire pump system in the Administration Facility. The Dining Facility, Administration Facility, and Library include combination fire alarm/mass notification systems. The Operations Facility includes carbon monoxide detection (120VAC local alarm type).
