Jack poole appointed to NFPA Standards Council

January 1, 2018

Poole Fire Protection Principal, Jack Poole, PE, FSFPE, was appointed by the National FireProtection Association (NFPA) Board of Directors to serve on the NFPA Standards Council for two three-year terms, beginning January 1st, 2018. Mr. Poole has now taken on the responsibility of guiding and overseeing the NFPA’s Standards Development Process. This is Mr. Poole’s first term on the Standards Council during his 32-year stint in the fire protection industry. He was chosen for his “reputation, experience and knowledge,” according to one NFPA staff member.

This, however, is not Mr. Poole’s first opportunity with the NFPA. He has served on multiple NFPA Technical Committees and held multiple positions within, including: principal, chair and member. Mr. Poole has also been selected as an instructor, on numerous occasions, to present NFPA training courses.

Mr. Poole will now have his voice heard more than ever as he regulates codes and standards, and administers the rules and regulations for the NFPA. He says the position comes with much honor, as he is excited to advance the field of fire protection even further.
