Peace Vector VII Package C
Cairo West Air Base sits on the western outskirts of Cairo, Egypt, and is controlled by the Egyptian Air Force (EAF). Currently home to various aircraft (E2C’s, C-130’s, among others), the base was outfitted by the Peace Vector VII FMS program to provide support to F-16 aircraft. Package C included the development of the remaining facilities in the PV VII program, and was approximately $14M in construction value.
The project included a site visit charrette in Cairo, Egypt with project stakeholders to include USAF AFMC AFLCMC/WFMC, USACE-TAM, Egyptian Air Force (EAF), and Stanley Consultants planning and design team. The Charrette goal was to validate previous designs and concepts and collect/refine new requirements from EAF. Ultimately the new requirements were developed into a final Planning and Programming report and a preliminary Request for Proposal. The report included parametric estimates, overall base plan, overall base utilities and facility connection points, preliminary facility plans, design narratives complete with each facilities design requirements to include mechanical, electrical, structural, communications, fire protection and life safety, site layout and utility systems.
