Qualified Fire Protection Engineer/ Engineer of Record

Poole Fire Protection is currently serving as the Qualified Fire Protection Engineer / Engineer of Record (QFPE) for the Brown Field Border Patrol Station in Dulzura, California. This multi-facility complex is for the U.S. Border Patrol while the project is administered by US Army Corps of Engineers – Fort Worth District. The U.S. Border Patrol Station is located on an approximately 120-acre site. This project includes the design of a Border Patrol Station capable of supporting 400 agents, not to exceed 50,000 sq. ft. with room for expansion, throughout the site, to 600 agents. It includes a detention area with capacity for 130 detainees and a 2-lane sally port capable of holding two buses. The project also includes ancillary support facilities and structure to meet the minimum mission requirements for U.S. Border Patrol agents and staff, and provide a safe environment for station personnel, detainees and visitors.

Poole Fire Protection is providing design of water storage tanks, fire pump, fire sprinkler systems, and fire alarm systems and development of code compliance plans and the fire protection/life safety design analysis.

The fire protection services also included multi-discipline design review and coordination to ensure compliance with fire protection and life safety related criteria for systems, such as emergency lighting, exit signage, fire rated construction, fire stopping, means of egress, portable fire extinguishers, and other similar systems.
